It was a usual Sunday evening, when my sister and I were debating where we should while away some time and argued over which restaurant to go to for dinner. We drove on the Baner Sus link road and decided to grab a bite in one of the cafes around the area. While my mother was parking the car, I noticed something new in the Regent Plaza Mall- An eye catching yellow coloured store at the corner ! We had to go inside and check it out !
I pushed the door open and discovered- Pagdandi: Books Chai Cafe. As soon as I entered the owners Vishal and Neha gave us a warm welcome and said that they had just opened the store to customers and we were free to look around.
I just couldn't help but smile because this place had two of my most favourite things in the world- books and coffee and a cool place to hangout with friends. What more could I ask for ! While we were checking out the books, my sister and I also could not stop raving about the mouth melting brownies served with a hot mug of coffee served here!
Pagdandi is a concept store with a wide collection of books which have been donated primarily by the owners themselves. The store provides a relaxing and warm ambiance with bench seating, low mattress seating as well as table and chairs. Over the last few weeks, there have been quite a few additions at the store with loads of new books adding spice to the existing collection.
The happiest moment was when Vishal asked me for advice on the displays. this is where my experience in Twist and Tales was handy and I offered to assist them during my free time. We began our discussions about the books and in the various ways we can put them on display. I even brought a few friends from college who helped me arrange the books and in turn offered them a bun maska and chai treat right here ! Vishal has given me the title of the "bookstore manager"!
I look forward to spending my free time here that sometimes I even forget that I have to get back home !
