Pagdandi is hosting a Book Reading Session by Scharada Dubey on Saturday 29th March 2014.
Professionally, Scharada Dubey is a well known author and has written a number of books for children as well as adults. She is currently living in Pune and is working at Vishwakarma Publications and Vishwakarma Institute of Technology as the Head of the Content Team. She has also practiced tarot card reading for a very long time. She has also written the ‘Tarot column’ for the Times Of India.
Scharada Aunty and I connected
immediately the moment we met. We began our conversation casually and ended up
having a lot in common to talk about. She is a charming and a fun loving person to
be around. She has the ability to relate to all age groups. She is a great listener
and is always keen to know what I have to say. She is passionate about writing and
is a great mentor to me. She is very inspiring. Every time we meet there is
something new that I get to learn from her. We have various discussions on
topics ranging from books, music, movies, cuisines, politics, and latest news.
Her latest book is titled ‘Bol Bam-
Approaches to Shiva’ which is an account of the
pilgrimages (spiritual yatras)
undertaken by her to various worship places of Shiva, and the various pilgrims
she met and interacted with in these journeys. Through these interactions she’s
brought out the several interpretations of Shiva, and the several actions
assumed by people to please this untamed God. The diversified facts and ideas
presented adds to the cultural economy, and the profusion of detail massages
the reader’s insight.
This book has received raving reviews and has been appreciated by the readers. I was fortunate to have a one-on-one book reading session with her which was entertaining and evoked an interest in me to read the book. I had an opportunity to be a part of an interactive in conversation session with Anil Zankar and Prof R.Raj Rao in discussion with Scharada Dubey at the launch of Bol Bam.
